WHAT TYPES PERSONAL INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT AND WHEN IS IT COLLECTED?

In operating the Platform, we may collect a variety of user-submitted information such as names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, user photos/images/likenesses, user names, passwords, mailing addresses, Tax ID numbers, and other contact or identifying information that can be used to specifically identify an individual (“Personal Information”). You may view the Site without registering or submitting any Personal Information, in which case we will be only collecting Non-Personal Information through the site (as defined below).

We collect Personal Information when:

• You Register or Create an Account. If you register and/or create a user account, we will collect Personal Information, which may include your and your supervisor, advisor’s (if applicable) name, location, email address, phone number, and/or company title.
• You Create an Event Listing or Post Sponsorship Opportunities. If you create an event listing or post a sponsorship opportunity on the Platform, we will collect Personal Information, which may include your location, photos, interests and other information.
• When You Participate in Surveys, Forums, and Write Reviews. If you participate in surveys, write reviews, participate in forums or otherwise communicate with us or other Users in public areas of the Platform, we will collect Personal Information, which may include your name, location and other information.
• When You Send Email Communications or Contact Us via the Platform. When you contact us via email or via the Platform, your name and the email address you use or provide to communicate with us will be subject to this Privacy Policy. We may keep a record of your communications with us and use the contents of those communications for any purpose, including without limitation to update your account or event information.
• When you sign up for Newsletters or RSVP for Events. When you sign up to receive our newsletters or RSVP for events through the Platform, you may be required to provide Personal Information such as your name, location, age and email address.
• Friend Invites. If you choose to use any feature of the Platform that allows you to invite friends to the Platform, or any events that we are offering or promoting, we may send email invitations to all friends for whom you provide an email address and we may disclose your name and e-mail address to the friend you invited for the purpose of notifying them who they were invited by. Your friends may contact us at info@recess.is to request that we remove their email information from our databases.
• Third Parties. We may also receive Personal Information collected by our other third party partners, service providers and affiliates in order to facilitate transactions in connection with the your use of the Platform and/or who we engage to provide services to facilitate the operation of the Platform. All Personal Information collected by such third parties and shared with us will be treated in accordance with this Privacy Policy by us, unless otherwise stated herein.
• Promotional Offers at Events or via Third Party Sites. In connection with a promotional offer sponsored by a third party at an event, or through a survey and/or sweepstakes at a third-party partner’s website (collectively, a “Promotional Offer”), you may choose to provide (1) your mobile telephone number to register for SMS text messages; (2) your email address so that we may contact you if are a sweepstakes winner; or (3) any additional Personal Information that you choose to provide through our Site, at an Event, or on the website of a third-party partner, in connection with a promotion, survey or sweepstakes. Your participation in any Promotional Offer is subject to any applicable terms related to that Promotional Offer, which may include our Text Messaging Terms and Conditions https://www.recess.is/text-terms or the rules of the applicable sweepstakes, as well as this Privacy Policy. You understand and agree that Promotional Offers are voluntary and that the Personal Information you provide for such Promotional Offers may be collected and used by us to identify and communicate with you. In certain circumstances, we may also share that Personal Information with our service providers or arrange for collection of such Personal Information to facilitate the fulfillment of Promotional Offers. Except as otherwise described in this section, any Personal Information that we collect in connection with Promotional Offers will be treated in accordance with this Privacy Policy, and you may opt out of receiving certain messaging, including SMS text messages, as described in the OPT OUT section, below.

HOW CAN YOU ACCESS, EDIT AND/OR REMOVE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

You can notify us at any time by contacting us at info@recess.is that you want to update or remove (and therefore terminate our storage of) your Personal Information, and upon receipt of that notice, we will remove all information about you from our database, except as may be necessary to facilitate the winding down of our business relationship with you (e.g., for billing purposes), at which point you may no longer be able to access certain features of the Platform that require registration unless you re-register. In connection with any account created on the Platform, you can update your information at any time by sending an email to info@recess.is. If you wish to delete your Account, including all Personal Information, you must contact us at the e-mail address stated above. We do not maintain any procedures for you to review or request changes to the information that we collect about you; your only option at this time is to request alteration or deletion of all Personal Information about you in our databases. Also, keep in mind that any information or content that you have posted to public areas of the Platform and/or that are not subject to this Privacy Policy (which may include comments, event information, reviews, photographs or images) may remain on the Platform for the benefit of other users irrespective of the status of your user account. The deletion of your Personal Information from our database will not cause the removal of any content you had previously provided to the Platform.

We take commercially appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access to or unauthorized alternation, disclosure or destruction of data.
